Maximize Coating, Toner, and Ink Performance
Our polymer and wax additives ensure coatings, inks, and toners perform best. These additives cover a range of melt and functional chemistries for liquid- and solid-phase applications.
Low molecular weights and lack of branching are key attributes of functional derivatives derived from POLYWAXâ„¢ polyethylene. CERAMERâ„¢ polymers, UNICIDâ„¢ acids, and UNILINâ„¢ alcohols offer efficient surface modification for enhanced scratch and mar, antiblock, reduced coefficient of friction, and improved adhesion.
Reduce Coating Surface Defects
DIAXâ„¢ 2770 polymer promotes optimum surface quality in solvent-based coatings by reducing defects associated with foaming. This polymer, which is a liquid at room temperature, is most effective when combined with acrylic or modified-acrylic flow additives.
In powder coating applications, our micronized functional and non-functional polyethylene grades improve lubrication, flow, de-gassing, scratch-resistance, slip and surface texture. Ask for a sample of our POLYMEKONâ„¢ and POLYWAXâ„¢ polyethylenes.
Ensure Optimum Color Development
UNITHOXâ„¢ D-1038 dispersant, based on our ethoxylate technology, excels when used to disperse high-color carbon blacks and other colored pigments into aqueous systems. The UNITHOX D-1038 dispersant is 100% free of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) to meet the most demanding environmental regulations.Ìý
Hit Your Release Target
The tight melt ranges of POLYWAXâ„¢ polyethylenes allow you to target the release properties of your toner, thermal transfer ink, and other imaging products. Low melt points enable you to formulate imaging systems that use less energy.
Obtain Better Formulation Compatibility
Our functional polymers improve compatibility between polar and nonpolar materials. Ask to see our data on the use of UNITHOXâ„¢ ethoxylates and CERAMERâ„¢ polymers as compatibilizers for improved release wax dispersion in toners.
